Computer-to-plate (CTP) is a modern printing process in which an image created in a Desktop Publishing application is output directly to a printing plate.

It evolves from the old methods where the computer file is output onto a photographic film. CTP boosts the sharpness as well as image accuracy thanks to finely registered media. It also minimizes the time to adjust or change the plate.
